Horror man traps super-sleuth!
 
A former convict known as "Gruesome" finds out about a scientist's secret formula for a paralyzing gas. After inhaling it and passing out he is mistaken for dead and taken to the morgue. He wakes up and escapes, which attracts the attention of Dick Tracy. Gruesome and his gang begin using the gas in their criminal enterprise with Dick Tracy out to stop them.
